Privacy Policy
The short version: the parent owns the account. We never collect personal information from children. We don't sell data, and we don't show ads.
What we collect
From parents: your email address and password (for login) and your subscription status. Card numbers go directly to Stripe, our payment processor; we never see or store them.
About your family, entered by parents: children's first names or nicknames, chosen avatars and colors, point balances and history, goals, and photos parents take of treats for their family's store. This data lives in your family's private record and is visible only to your family.
From children: nothing. Children have no accounts, and the app never asks a child for an email, password, birthdate, contact information, or location.
Automatically: basic technical logs from our infrastructure provider (Google Firebase) for security and reliability.
Product analytics: we collect app-usage events (for example, "an award was given") tied to the family account through PostHog, our analytics provider, to improve the product. Analytics is configured without advertising identifiers, never includes children's personal information, and is never used for advertising.
Feedback you send: if you use the in-app feedback button, we receive your note, the screen you were on, and an optional screenshot you choose to attach. Screenshots can include whatever was on screen, such as your kids' first names and balances, so attach one only if you're comfortable with that. Feedback is used solely to improve the product.
Bea, the parent assistant
"Ask Bea" is an AI helper for parents, available only behind the parent PIN; children cannot chat with Bea. When you send Bea a question, the text of your question (and the recent messages in that chat) is processed by Anthropic, our AI provider, to generate the answer; under our agreement it is not used to train AI models. We keep a log of Bea questions and answers, tied to your family account, to review quality and prevent abuse; these logs delete automatically after 90 days. Don't include sensitive personal information in Bea chats. Chats aren't stored on your device and each conversation starts fresh.
Children's privacy (COPPA)
Bee Bucks is designed for families with children under 13 used under the direct control of a parent account holder. Because we collect no personal information from children, and all child-related data is entered and controlled by the parent within the parent's own account, parental consent is inherent in account creation.
Where data lives
Google Firebase (United States). Payments are processed by Stripe.
Your controls
Edit or delete kid profiles and store items in the app at any time. To delete your entire account and family data instantly, use "Delete this account forever" in the app's grown-up settings, or email isaac@mybeebucks.com and we delete within 30 days. We keep data only while your account exists.
No selling, no ads
We do not sell personal data, and we will never show advertising to children.
